Get your pen or pencil out! The Aitkin Farmers’ Market and the Harvest Moon Brew Fest, both of which have grown to become some of the region’s most popular events, will return again this year.
First, the 2017 Aitkin Farmers’ Market is scheduled to return Memorial Weekend on Saturday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Local Aitkin-ites and visitors from other areas of the state can look forward to perusing a wide selection of Minnesota farm products and other goods from local. The Farmers’ Market is held in the parking lot of the historic Butler Building (301 Minnesota Avenue North) and will take place every Saturday up until Labor Day Weekend.
This year’s Farmers’ Market will feature a large quantity of homemade goods and handmade items, including fresh garden produce, eggs, baked goods, jams and jellies, live plants, yarn and wool products, crafts and soaps, syrup, and flowers and herbs. There will also be live entertainment, including performances from popular local musicians. A calendar of upcoming live entertainment performances and other events for the 2017 Farmers’ Market will be released in the next months.
Any farmers interested in participating can download the application, or can call Sylvia Allen, Building Owner, at 218-678-2441 to have an application sent to them directly.
