The National Judy Garland Talent Search is being held in 2013 in advance of the 75th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz in 2014. The contest seeks to find one finalist from each state to compete for the National title.
Contestants should be judged on overall appearance, vocal talent and be 18 – 45 years of age. Individual state
finalists will gather in Aitkin, Minnesota at the Aitkin Opera House at Butler’s in October, 2013 for the finals.
The winner of the National contest will receive a cash prize of $10,000 and a set of professional headshots. Local, regional and national TV appearances will also be part of the winner’s package. The contest is owned by The Butler Project, LLC and is produced by Allen Consulting. A portion of the proceeds from the contest will benefit The Rain-bow Foundation and Sylvia’s Children.
